An international urban planning hackathon "Mad-Velo-City Riga" took place on 6 May, 2020 in order to support the idea of the installation of temporary bicycle lanes that would improve mobility in Riga during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The main goal was to find creative solutions for temporary bicycle lanes in the capital Riga and its immediate vicinity. The main prize for the winning hackathon team - public bicycle parking lots installed in the place chosen by the winners.
